altar servers

This is a wonderful opportunity for children to begin their ministry by serving the Lord and the faith community. Any child/teen who have been baptized and celebrated their First Communion are the candidates for being an Altar Server.

extraordinary ministers of the eucharist

This group of special ministers, fully initiated in the Church and commissioned by the Bishop, assists the Presider during Mass with the distribution of the Eucharist. Some of these ministers also meet the continuing spiritual needs of the parishioners who are homebound or institutionalized (see Visitation Ministry). Training is provided approximately twice a year.

lectors

The ministers in this group are fully initiated in the Church proclaim the First and Second readings during the Mass.

They meet every Thursday at 7pm in the Worship Space to prepare for the Sunday readings. Please note that an initial audition is required to be a part of this ministry.

sacristans

This ministry helps with the preparation of the Liturgy, ensuring that everything needed at Mass is taken care of and in proper order.

ushers

Ushers present a welcoming environment toward our parishioners and visitors by assisting in helping people find seating, taking up the weekly collections, supervise Communion lines, and pass the bulletin at the end of Mass.

Training is provided at least once a year.

visitation ministry

These devoted ministers serve those who are homebound, or in facilities of care, providing them an opportunity to pray and receive the Eucharist. Like the Extraodinary Ministers of the Eucharist at Mass, Visitation Ministers are also commissioned by the Bishop. Those who are 18 years old and above and fully initiated in the Church may apply. Training for this ministry is provided and required.

10 am mass choir

The 10am Choir serves on a weekly basis during our Sunday, 10am Mass. Members of this group are both singers and instrumentalists that are 14 years old and above. A 2-year minimum experience with each chosen instrument and an audition is required.

Rehearsals are every Wednesday at 6:45pm in the Worship Space.

5 pm MASS ENSEMBLE

The SJN 5pm Ensemble serves on a weekly basis during our Sunday, 5pm Mass. Members of this group are both singers and instrumentalists that are 13 years old and above.

Rehearsals are Sunday at 4pm before the 5pm Mass

children’s choir

The Children’s Choir consists of talented youth ages 5 and above, who sing once a month at the 12pm Mass.

Rehearsals are every Wednesday, 6-6:45pm in the Worship Space with a summer break during the month of July.
